Speed and distance were ascertained by GPS with a new battery and a 180 pound person on a paved level surface. With a 330 pound load, the distance was 5.5 miles. With these parameters, the distance, with different loads, can be estimated accordingly.

Because of the lightweight design and easy maneuverability, the TravelScoot does not have a reverse function.

Spare battery packs - your choice of the same
as the TravelScoot's main SLA battery pack or
the state-of- the-art NIMH battery. Any second
battery can easily be mounted on top of the main
battery and doubles your distance.

While it weighs only little more than half of the SLA battery, it has a 30% higher capacity (30% more distance) and a much greater lifespan

After 500 charging cycles it is still over 80% of its rated capacity, while an SLA battery typically decreases gradually to about 60% after 100 cycles. In addition, the NIMH battery tolerates deep cycles much better than the SLA

Keep in mind that when using the TravelScoot, you will probably cover much more distance for the same purpose than you would do by walking. Therefore, as with every battery-operated item, the purchase of a second battery pack is strongly recommended.

The revolutionary and unique hinge system allows for a three- wheeled electric vehicle for the first time to be folded to the size of a two-wheeled scooter.
For some lightweight carry-on items attach the included fabric caddy with Velcro between the V-shaped trailing arms.
  When traveling, instead of the caddy, you can slide a small suitcase (of the size permitted by airlines for carry-on luggage) across the trailing arms. It will fit neatly underneath the seat and your legs. This allows your hands to be free for steering and control.
  For shopping purposes, you can also slide a cardboard box across the trailing arms.
For the walking-impared air traveler, it is permitted to drive the TravelScoot right to the departure gate. The airline will transport and deliver it directly to the arrival gate at no extra cost. The sealed battery is FAA approved for commercial air transport.
The relaxed seating position allows riding even with an injured leg fully in cast. Small cups near the footrests accommodate cane or crutches.
If you encounter a patch of rough, uneven terrain or there is no wheelchair ramp present between different levels, the TravelScoot can easily be carried over these kinds of obstructions.
The TravelScoot weighs 49 lbs including the battery. If this is still too heavy for you to lift or carry, keep the battery separate and split the weight nearly in half.
